The summer of my 14th birthday I went to Paris for the first time and I consider that visit as my introduction to modern art. I remember the visit to the Pompidou museum like it was yesterday. That is where I first encountered Kandinsky. I was mesmerized by the colors and the shapes! So much so that I went and bought every book on Kandinsky I could find and started sketching and strategizing what my 'homage' to him would look like. It took a few more years (I think it must have been 2005?) until I finally decided to give oil painting a try and test my Kandinsky-esque aesthetics. What came out of it was the painting filling the background to the home-site of this page.

These include painting, photography, and various other crafty projects that I try out every once in a while... ArchivesCategories |
